Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday greetings to Gandhi and wished him good health and a long life. In a message posted on social media platform X, Modi said, "Best wishes to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, on his birthday. Praying for his good health and long life."
Gandhi, a former Congress president and the current Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, also received warm wishes from leaders belonging to several constituents of the opposition alliance. Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule were among those who conveyed their greetings.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief C Joseph Vijay lauded Gandhi for continuously raising his voice for national progress, democratic values and the welfare of people from every section of society. In his message, Vijay described Gandhi as his dear brother and wished him good health and a long life. He expressed hope that Gandhi's efforts would continue to succeed and that he would maintain distinction in public life.
Extending his greetings on X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said Gandhi's dedication to the ideals of the Constitution and his unwavering struggle for unheard voices had inspired millions. Kharge stated that the Congress party's traditions of inclusiveness, social justice, harmony and compassion were reflected in Gandhi's public life and leadership. He added that Gandhi's persistent engagement with citizens and his courage in speaking against authority had enabled him to consistently champion the cause of the most vulnerable and marginalised sections. Kharge wished him good health, happiness, strength and a long life dedicated to national service.
Several Congress leaders and chief ministers also extended their greetings. Among them were Kerala Congress president V D Satheesan, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and senior leaders Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot.
Congress general secretary K C Venugopal hailed Gandhi and described him as a symbol of hope and the future of the country. He said that at a time when democracy, constitutional values and moral principles were facing unprecedented challenges, Gandhi had emerged as a strong advocate of an inclusive, compassionate and democratic nation. Venugopal said that despite facing numerous hardships, Gandhi had repeatedly demonstrated the qualities of leadership required by the country and had become a source of hope for young people, the poor and marginalised communities. He also expressed pride in working closely with Gandhi and wished him success in the coming year.
The Congress party, through its official social media account, said Gandhi had consistently chosen to speak out against injustice, inequality and the misuse of power at a time when many preferred silence. The party stated that his actions had inspired millions and reinforced the belief that politics could be guided by principles, compassion and a commitment to social change. It also described Gandhi as a voice for Generation Z, saying he listened to, understood and empowered young people while representing their aspirations. The party wished him strength and happiness and expressed hope for a kinder and more equitable India.
